FAQ
The questions we get asked most often. If you don't find your answer here, check our Contact page.
Is Baby Formula Tool really free?
▼
Yes. All calculators and trackers are completely free to use. We support the site through advertising and occasional affiliate links. We will never charge for access to the core tools.
Do you store my baby's data?
▼
No. All data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. Nothing is sent to our servers. Your feeding logs, symptom records, and growth measurements never leave your device. Clear your browser cache and the data is gone.
Can I use these tools for my premature baby?
▼
Our Formula Calculator and Growth Chart both include preemie correction modes that adjust for corrected gestational age. However, premature infants often have specialized nutritional needs that go beyond what any online calculator can provide. Always follow your neonatologist's guidance for preemies.
Are the formula calculations accurate?
▼
Our calculations are based on standard pediatric nutrition guidelines (150 ml/kg/day for newborns, 120 ml/kg/day for 1-6 months, etc.). They provide a reasonable estimate for healthy, full-term infants. But every baby is different. Growth spurts, illness, and individual metabolism all affect actual needs. Use the calculator as a starting point, not a prescription.
Can I export my data?
▼
Yes. Every tool includes an export function that generates a CSV file or plain text summary. This is perfect for bringing to pediatrician appointments or keeping your own records. Since data is stored locally, exporting is the only way to back it up.
Do you recommend specific formula brands?
▼
No. We are brand-agnostic. Our tools work with any standard infant formula. We do not accept payment from formula manufacturers and do not endorse specific brands. Our articles share personal experiences but never claim one brand is universally better than another. The right formula depends on your baby's individual needs.
Who is Emily Hartwell?

How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
▼
Email us at
contact@babyformulatool.com. We read every email, though replies may take a week or two. We're a small team (mostly one sleep-deprived mom), so please be patient.
What devices and browsers are supported?
▼
Baby Formula Tool works on any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on desktop, tablet, and mobile. All tools are responsive and touch-friendly. No app download required.
Can I share my feeding log with my partner or pediatrician?
▼
Yes. Use the Export or Copy functions in any tool to generate a shareable report. You can email the CSV file, paste the text into a message, or print it for appointments. Since data stays on your device, sharing is manual — but that also means you have full control over who sees it.
